Overview

The Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia confirms that between 18 and 19 December 2025, Thai military forces continued their armed aggression against Cambodia across the 4th, 5th, and 3rd Military Regions, in clear violation of the ceasefire and the Joint Declaration signed by the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand on 26 October 2025.

Thai operations involved coordinated air, land, and naval attacks, targeting civilian communities, temples, bridges, and other civilian infrastructure, constituting serious violations of international humanitarian law.

3rd Military Region – Naval Attacks

  • 06:30 PM – 06:55 PM: Thai naval warship launched approximately 10–20 artillery shells, falling into the water behind a hotel near the Cham Yeam Border Checkpoint, Mondul Seima District, Koh Kong Province
  • 06:30 PM – 06:55 PM: Thai naval warship also fired approximately 10–20 shells into the water near the border gate area in the geography of Jrok Jam Yam, Mondul Seima District

As of the latest update, the situation returned to calm. Cambodian forces continued monitoring with high alertness.

The attacks described above constitute indiscriminate strikes affecting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

The Royal Government of Cambodia reiterates that the Cambodian Armed Forces and National Police will continue to stand strong, brave, and steadfast across all battlefronts to fulfill their duties to defend Cambodia’s territorial integrity.
